In this weeks news, my story comes from the Sun. It comes off the back of the tragic events that occurred in Paris last week and tells the story of 7 year old Isabel Devren from Dover. Isabel overheard her parents talking about heart-breaking proceedings from Paris last week, and decided to write a letter to the Queen.
The letter offered an
adorable insight about how we should treat each other, and it shows that we can
learn a lot about the actions of this little girl. Isabel wrote: "Dear the
Queen, I wish I could be a Princess, you are the longest living Queen in the
world, love you Queen and please stop the bad men and women shooting people. When
I don't agree with someone, I just find someone else to talk to, maybe they
should do to."
Isabel’s mum Mel said to the sun “I personally think it's
inspirational and I think the nation can learn a lot from her. A seven-year-old
can see things from the point of view that other people can't even see”.
You wrote well on the content of the article and used an effective amount of opinions that you had towards the article. Next time you could write more about the viewpoint, did it make a difference that the article was written by The Sun? for example.
ReplyDeleteI really like this story, it's a nicer way to approach the trauma of Paris a couple of weeks ago. I also like that you have used images to show me as the audience who the little girl was and therefore empathise with the story. Maybe next time mention the writer and how their perspective influenced this, but well done (ps well done for your gym display also) x
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this story and how you displayed your opinion and the appropriate information and context for the reader to emphasise, particularly with the use of images depicting the young girl. You could speak of how the fact that the Sun is a tabloid might affect the telling of the story.
